Who We Are
Melville-Knox Highland is a Christian educational company, which was incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee (a non-profit company structure) on 11 July 2023.
The School has a Constitution and a Statement of Faith grounded in the Reformed Confessions of Faith. Both parents and a range of local congregations are represented on the Board. The congregations currently represented include: Duthil-Dores (Dores & Tomatin) Free Church of Scotland (Continuing), Westhill, Inverness Free Church of Scotland (Continuing), Dornoch and Bonar Bridge Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland, Glasgow Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland, Kiltearn Free Church of Scotland, Smithton Culloden Free Church Of Scotland, and Living Hope Church.
We want to set out a positive vision of Christian education, rather than provide any negative critique of any other type of educational setting. We recognise that sending a child to a Melville-Knox school will not be the right decision for every child. Each family has to make decisions that best suit their circumstances.
We want to encourage and support parents who home school and those who teach in state schools. We plan to hold educational conferences that will be of interest to educators in any of these contexts.
We have developed a Christian curriculum, based on work undertaken by other Melville-Knox Schools, and are looking to appoint Christian teachers and classroom assistants. The School is open to children of all faiths or none.
