Daniëlle Campbell

Daniëlle is our first primary school teacher. She trained as a teacher in the Netherlands, first at Hoornbeeck College and then at De Driestar Christian University. This included working across a range of schools and settings. From 2004 to 2015, she worked in a Dutch Christian School with primary and secondary school children who had special needs. After moving to Scotland, Daniëlle taught for a number of years in the Melville-Knox School in Glasgow. She is registered as a teacher with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.

Daniëlle is the author of a number of books for children, is a column writer for two Dutch magazines, and has been involved in a range of Christian outreach mission work in both Holland and Malawi.

Danielle was married to Rev John Campbell who was a Minister in the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland in Staffin, Skye, who sadly passed away on 25 May 2023. She has two lovely young girls who bring her much joy, one of whom hopes to enrol in Melville-Knox Highland.

An opportunity for you?

The school is seeking to recruit teachers. If you are interested in a paid or volunteer position, please email us, even if you might be able to provide us with a couple of hours a month in a particular subject.

Teachers need to be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland. All of the teachers of Melville-Knox Highland will also be expected to carry out religious duties such as prayer throughout the working day and therefore are required to be Christians who are in agreement with the Reformed theology that underpins our constitution. All teachers sign a statement that: I hereby declare that I have read and understood the Constitution of the School and will without reservation abide by its rules and agree with its aims. I hereby declare that I agree with, and will uphold without reservation the Statement of Faith and Principles of Doctrine with good conscience.

Volunteering?

In addition to the staff requirement detailed above, the school needs volunteers, for example, as classroom assistants, fundraisers, cleaners, or lunchtime supervisors. If you are interested in helping us please contact us for an intial informal chat. We will at least keep your details on file, with your consent, so that additional volunteers can be pulled in when needed. Volunteers will require a PVG check.
